Responsibilities

The Community Development Department (CDD) is responsible for improving the quality of life, welfare, and economic opportunities by providing advanced planning, development review, compliance with building and zoning codes, permitting, inspection services, code enforcement, achieving economic development goals, advancing the City's General Plan and other citywide initiatives, and administration of programs related to affordable housing. CDD works to balance the needs of residents, businesses, property owners, and provides technical and policy support to the City Manager and other City Departments.

ALERT ! NOTICE OF SERVICE CLOSURES
CITY HALL SERVICES:
All City Hall services will be closed on Thursday, May 7th, 2026 between 11:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. for a citywide employee meeting. Normal City Hall services, including the Permit Center, will resume at1:15 p.m.  
In observance of Memorial Day, all City Hall services will be closed on Monday, May 25th, 2026. Normal City Hall services, including the Permit Center, will resume on Tuesday, May 26th, 2026.

  • Independence Day (observed):  Friday, July 3, 2026
