RecycleTek CRV Recycling Program

In partnership with Recycletek, the City of Cupertino is pleased to offer residents convenient recycling services for California Redemption Value (CRV) beverage containers. Recycletek’s AI-assisted EcoPod reverse vending machines (RVMs) enable users to safely and efficiently redeem eligible bottles, cans, and cartons at two community locations. With on-site support, fast processing, and a digital payment system, it’s never been easier to recycle in Cupertino.

How to Redeem in 4 Steps

1. Create a Free Account

Visit Recycletek.co to register. You’ll need an email address and phone number. This secure account lets you receive digital payments and track your recycling activity.

2. Collect & Sort Your Containers

Gather CRV-eligible beverage containers (look for “CA CRV” on the label). Eligible materials include:

  • Plastic bottles

  • Aluminum cans

  • Glass bottles

For the fastest and most accurate processing, please leave labels on and avoid crushing your containers. Be sure to pre-sort materials by type: plastic, aluminum, glass, or cartons before arrival.
Please note: containers for dairy products are not accepted as part of the CRV program.

3. Visit a Recycletek Location

EcoPods operate at the following Cupertino locations:

  • Wednesdays at Creekside Park (10455 Miller Ave), 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

  • Saturdays at 10259 Mary Avenue, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Every machine is staffed by a trained Recycletek operator who can assist you with sorting questions, logging in, or account setup.

4. Receive Instant Digital Payment

Once your items are processed, your total CRV refund is credited to your Recycletek account. All payments are digital; funds can be accessed through the Recycletek platform or a connected digital wallet. There is no cash on their locations.
