Recreation Event Volunteers (REV) is a teen volunteering group that supports Cupertino Parks and Recreation events. Teens will be able to hone their leadership skills, create a meaningful impact on their community, and earn volunteering hours.
Celebrating our Recreation Event Volunteers
The 2024–2025 year marked the first-ever year of the Recreation Event Volunteers (REV): A new teen leadership group dedicated to supporting Cupertino Parks and Recreation events and helping create meaningful community experiences.
We’re proud to recognize our inaugural REV members for their incredible dedication and impact:
Gold Level – Completed at least 6 events, contributing an average of 30+ hours: Alexander Chu, Juliet Sung, Junali Dutta, and Rupal Bellimagg
Silver Level – Completed at least 4 events, contributing an average of 25+ hours: Darren Hsu and Sathvik Vemulapalli
Bronze Level – Completed 2–3 events, contributing an average of 15+ hours: Andre Cote and Saanvi Halambi

How can I join REV?
To apply as a member of REV, applicants must fully complete the online application. Applications are reviewed on a rolling, quarterly basis. Reviews are conducted around the following times:
- September
- December
- March
- May
Applicants will be notified of their application status shortly after these review periods.
There are also supplemental questions to answer on the application. For your drafting purposes, here are the supplemental questions (each answer should not exceed 300 words):
- What inspired you to start volunteering, and how has it impacted your life so far?
- If you noticed an area for improvement in one of our events, how would you go about suggesting and implementing a change?
Requirements and Expectations

REV members are required to participate in at least 2 of the City's major events such as Monster Mash, Big Bunny 5K, and Independence Day Celebration and 2 minor events such as Tree Lighting and Sweetheart Social. This means volunteering opportunities will be held on some holidays, weekends, and evenings. By applying, you acknowledge and agree to be available for these events.
