Cupertino Announces 2025 CREST Awards Winners and Celebrates 70 Years

This year marks a major milestone for Cupertino: the 70th anniversary of its incorporation on October 10, 1955. To honor the occasion, the City is hosting a month of festivities that highlight Cupertino’s history, culture, and community spirit. 

As part of the celebration, the City will recognize the 2025 CREST Awards (Cupertino Recognizes Extra Steps Taken) winners during the Cupertino Community Service Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, October 29. These awards honor individuals and organizations whose volunteer service has left a lasting mark on the community. 

The 2025 CREST Award honorees are as follows: 

  • Lifetime Achievement: Dennis Whittaker 

  • Volunteer of the Year: Raymond Lancon 

  • Organization of the Year: Cupertino Little League 

  • Rising Star of the Year: Sarah Shelke 

  • Rising Star of the Year: Reena Shah 

  • Hometown Hero: Deputy Aalok Patel 

Community members are invited to join anniversary events including the Fall Bike Fest on September 27, Cupertino’s first Restaurant Week from October 6–12, the “My Cupertino” Art Showcase and Cupertino Community Service Awards on October 29, and the Cupertino Puzzle Hunt running October 1–26.
