Public Safety Commission

The Public Safety Commission consists of five members appointed by the City Council to four-year, overlapping terms. The primary functions are to advise the Council on all areas relating to public safety, traffic, and police, fire and other matters relating to the foregoing (also see Municipal Code 2.60.070 Duties–Responsibilities).

Meetings are held at 6:00 p.m. on the second Thursday of the odd numbered months at the Quinlan Community Center Conference Room.

Bio: Nirmalendu and his wife Sagorika have been residents of Cupertino since 2005 and have raised their two daughters here. Nirmalendu is an Engineering Executive in the Technology sector and has been actively engaged in civic issues, activities, and philanthropy in the City, as well as an active member of the Faria Elementary PTA. Nirmalendu is extremely passionate about Public Safety and wants to make our city safer, even more beautiful, and livable.

 

Sidharth Rajaram, Vice Chair

Bio: Sidharth Rajaram is focused on furthering safety and renewing a greater sense of community in his hometown of Cupertino. Sidharth has been a member of the Cupertino Citizen Corps through the Cupertino Amateur Radio Emergency Service since 2012. In this capacity, he takes part in city-wide drills and helps with city communication for events like the Big Bunny 5K and the July 4th Fireworks. A former Chair of the Teen Commission, he was involved with the founding of the now-annual Hack Cupertino hackathon as well as the design of Cupertino’s Social Host Responsibility Ordinance to help tackle underage alcohol and substance abuse.

Bio: Ravi is a dedicated Cupertino resident, Assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scouts Troop 479, AYSO Region 35 soccer coach, tech enthusiast, and a member of Citizen Corps and the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). Ravi is passionate about serving people and driving progress in the Cupertino community.
