On Friday, July 4, the City of Cupertino proudly hosted its annual Fourth of July Celebration, transforming Memorial Park and other City spaces into a festive hub of red, white, and blue. Coordinated by the Parks and Recreation Department, the day-long celebration brought families, friends, and neighbors together to honor the spirit of Independence Day through beloved local traditions and community fun.
The day began with a hearty pancake breakfast at the Quinlan Community Center, hosted by the Optimist Club of Cupertino. Attendees of all ages came together to enjoy a delicious start to the morning before heading over to Memorial Park for the Flag Raising Ceremony.
Immediately following the ceremony, children took to the paths of Memorial Park in a patriotic parade of decorated bikes, wagons, strollers, and outfits. The parade led to the grass fields near the Memorial Park Amphitheater, where families enjoyed a variety of kids activities including bubbles, coloring, lawn games, and an obstacle course.
Meanwhile, the Memorial Park Amphitheater came alive with live music from the Billy Martini Band, who energized the crowd with hits from the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s.
As night fell, the City capped off the day with a dazzling fireworks display that lit up the sky and drew spectators to viewing locations at Creekside Park, Sedgwick Elementary, and along Miller Avenue.
This year’s celebration was made possible through the support of the community, dedicated City staff, volunteers, and sponsors. A special thank-you goes to School of Rock Sunnyvale, sponsor of the 2025 celebration.
The City of Cupertino extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped make this year’s Fourth of July a success. We look forward to celebrating together again next year.
