Celebrate the 4th of July in Cupertino

Spend Independence Day with the City of Cupertino at a full day of community celebrations, family-friendly activities, live music, swimming, and fireworks.

Start the morning with pancakes at Quinlan Community Center, join the flag raising and children’s parade at Memorial Park, enjoy activities and live music, cool off at Blackberry Farm Pool, and end the night with Cupertino’s fireworks show. Whether you join us for one part of the day or make it an all-day celebration, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Pancake Breakfast | 8 to 11 a.m.

Start the day with a community favorite hosted by the Optimist Club of Cupertino. Breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, fruit cup, and your choice of coffee or hot chocolate. Orange juice will be available for an additional $3.

Payment will be accepted at the door. Cash only.

 

Flag Raising and Children's Parade | 10 a.m.

Flag Raising Ceremony

Veterans Memorial at Memorial Park

Join the community for a formal flag raising ceremony featuring remarks from the Mayor of Cupertino. This annual tradition is a meaningful way to begin the day and honor the spirit of Independence Day.

 

Children’s Parade

After the ceremony, families are invited to take part in the Children’s Parade through Memorial Park. Kids, families, and pets are welcome to show their patriotic spirit by decorating bikes, scooters, strollers, wagons, or outfits in red, white, and blue.

Following the parade, kids can enjoy hands-on activities and outdoor fun, including coloring, bubbles, an obstacle course, and lawn games. It’s a great way for families to relax, play, and keep the celebration going after the morning ceremony.

Memorial Park Amphitheater

Enjoy live music from Fire Peach as the Children’s Parade concludes at the amphitheater. The band will bring a high-energy mix of 90s and 2000s music, perfect for families, friends, and anyone looking to enjoy a festive morning in the park.

Cool off at Blackberry Farm Pool during the holiday. Weekend single-day admission fees apply. Picnic areas will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Barbecuing is not permitted.

Cap off your Independence Day celebration with a spectacular fireworks display launching from Hyde Middle School at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Viewing Locations

  •  Creekside Park
  • Sedgwick Elementary School
  • Miller Avenue near Bollinger Road
  • ⚠️Please note: The Hyde Middle School campus will be closed to spectators.

Street Closures and Parking
Several streets around Hyde Middle School will close starting at 5 p.m. Parking will be extremely limited near the fireworks viewing areas. Guests are encouraged to walk, bike, carpool, or arrange drop-off when possible.

Leave Pets at Home
Pets are not permitted at the fireworks viewing areas. Fireworks can be stressful for animals, so please plan ahead and keep pets safe at home.

No Barbecues
Barbecues are not allowed at any of the designated viewing sites.

What to Bring
Guests are encouraged to bring picnic blankets, low-back lawn chairs, water, sunscreen, and layers for the evening. For fireworks viewing, please arrive early and be respectful of nearby neighborhoods, schools, and parks.
