Celebrating World Peace with Bell Ringing Ceremony

On Tuesday, August 6, Cupertino-Toyokawa Sister Cities Inc. and the City of Cupertino held the 6th annual Bell Ringing for World Peace, commemorating the momentous occasion of the 80th anniversary of the bombing of Toyokawa, Japan on August 7, 1945.

Mayor Liang Chao, Vice Mayor Kitty Moore, and Councilmember Sheila Mohan attended the event, and Mayor Chao provided remarks to honor those who were lost, reaffirm the commitment to world peace, and express gratitude for our Sister City relationship with Toyokawa.

Thank you to Cupertino-Toyokawa Sister Cities Inc., the Consul General of Japan, Cupertino Union School District, and everyone from the community who joined the occasion to ring bells for world peace.
