Audit Committee
The Committee consists of four or five members serving four-year terms. Two individuals are members of City Council, and a minimum of two and a maximum of three are members of the public at large. The Audit Committee is recruited and appointed like the commissions. See the Commissions page for how to apply.
The members at large shall not be an official or employee of the City, nor cohabit with as defined by law, nor be related by blood or marriage to any member of the Committee, the City Manager or staff person assigned to the Committee. The powers and functions of the Audit Committee shall be as follows (also see Municipal Code 2.88.100 Powers and Functions):
- To review the annual audit report and management letter;
- To recommend appointment of auditors;
- To review the Quarterly Treasurer’s investment report;
- To recommend a budget format;
- To review City investment policies and internal controls of such policies;
- To recommend appointment of internal auditors;
- To review internal audit reports;
- To review quarterly Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Program reports.
Regular meetings are held Quarterly on the fourth Monday of the selected month at 4 p.m.

Bio: Eno Schmidt has degrees in economics and finance and is a retired CPA. An experienced executive, he worked as an audit and consulting partner with KPMG LLP, and as a Silicon Valley entrepreneur, he founded a mid-tier intellectual property consulting firm that is one of the largest of its kind. A resident of Cupertino since 1996, Eno has been an active volunteer in the community. For example, he has served as a Cupertino Library Commissioner and as President of the Cupertino Library Foundation. He has also previously served on the Cupertino Audit Committee (from 2012 to 2021), including as chair for several years. Among his various accolades, Eno was a recipient of the Cupertino Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year Award in 2016 and of Cupertino’s CREST Award in 2009.
