Statement Regarding Administrative Leave of City Manager Pamela Wu

On May 2, 2025, the Cupertino City Council placed City Manager Pamela Wu on paid administrative leave, effective immediately. This decision was made to ensure the City can continue to operate smoothly and maintain organizational stability while allowing a fair internal review process to move forward in a constructive and focused manner.

Deputy City Manager Tina Kapoor has been appointed as Acting City Manager and will oversee the day-to-day responsibilities of the City Manager during this period. Ms. Kapoor brings 20+ years of local government experience and proven leadership, and the Council has full confidence in her ability to guide the organization through this transition.
