As part of a long-standing Bay Area tradition, the City of Cupertino celebrated Bike to Work and Wherever Days on Thursday morning, May 15, by welcoming cyclists at a community energizer station at the corner of McClellan and Stelling roads.

Volunteers from the Cupertino Bicycle Pedestrian Commission and Walk Bike Cupertino, came together to encourage commuters to leave their cars at home and opt for a more sustainable ride, furthering the work outlined in the City’s Active Transportation Plan (ATP). Cyclists on their way to work and school were greeted with coffee, snacks, bike safety gear, and enthusiastic cheers from volunteers.

For those who couldn’t participate on Thursday, there are still opportunities to get involved. Bike to Wherever Days continue throughout the Bay Area through Saturday, May 17, and the Bay Area Bike Challenge runs through the end of May. The City's Active Transportation Plan is also in Phase 1 of public outreach, and community members are encouraged to share their feedback online through Wednesday, June 5.
