City of Cupertino 70th Anniversary

This year, the City of Cupertino is celebrating the 70th anniversary of Cupertino’s official incorporation as Santa Clara County’s 13th city!  

In 1954, the Cupertino-Monta Vista Improvement Association, a committee of local leaders, and the Fact-Finding Committee began a drive for incorporation. By a slim margin vote of 231 to 185, Cupertino officially voted to become its own city. 

Ever since its incorporation on October 10, 1955, the City of Cupertino has been a place that has brought pioneers from many cultures together as it continues to grow and adapt to each new era. Cupertino has a deep, rich, and wonderful history filled with hard work, innovation, and strong community building. To all residents of Cupertino, happy 70th anniversary!
