On Friday, June 13, the City of Cupertino proudly celebrated a significant milestone in creating more accessible and inclusive public spaces with the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the City’s first-ever all-inclusive playground at Jollyman Park.

The event brought together more than 200 community members, special needs groups, and honorable guests to commemorate the opening of this innovative space designed for children of all abilities to play, explore, and connect. The celebration included a heartwarming musical performance by the Dream Achiever Band from Friends of Children with Special Needs.

Special guests in attendance included District Director Victoria Low from Assemblymember Patrick Ahrens’ Office, Vice President Teresa Alvarado from PG&E, and Melissa Erikson and Jan Eiesland from MIG, the firm that supported the design and planning of the playground.

The new all-inclusive playground reflects the City’s commitment to improving ‘Quality of Life’ for all residents, one of Cupertino’s core strategic goals, and exemplifies our vision of a welcoming, inclusive community. The City extends its sincere thanks to City Council for their continued support and to the dedicated City staff whose work brought this important project to life. The playground is now open and ready for all to enjoy.
